AI notice

Mend AI is the small model on each Mend server that learns which approved recovery fixes a stuck screen from browser-verified outcomes. When it is unsure about a transition, it asks its reasoning engine and keeps each checked answer as a correction; its own answers use none of the included value. The AI usage in these plans is cloud AI: the reasoning engine for layout checks and for transitions Mend AI is unsure about, and the optional review. Cloud AI receives failure codes, timings and size and visibility measurements—never page text, form entries, screenshots, URLs or element IDs. The workspace owner, an app’s developer and the app’s users can each turn cloud AI off; local checks keep working and use none of the included value. The free demo and the companion app send nothing to AI.

Powered by Anthropic (Claude), Mend AI’s reasoning engine, and, only if the server’s operator turns it on, OpenAI (GPT-6 Astra) review of results. Each provider processes what it receives under its own API terms and data controls, which govern how long it keeps it and how it may use it. Mend never sends your data to train Anthropic’s or OpenAI’s models.

HOW AI USAGE WORKS

Included usage first. Extra usage only if you allow it.

Mend measures cloud AI usage as the retail dollar value of the tokens Anthropic and OpenAI report for your workspace’s requests. Local checks use none. Metering and the extra-spending cap below belong to workspace billing, which subscriptions bought on this website don’t have yet: during the pilot they are charged the monthly price only (see How subscribing works).

Included value

Each plan includes a set retail value of AI token usage per monthly billing period. It is not cash, prepaid funds, a Claude account credit or a per-device allowance. Unused value does not roll over, and the monthly price applies even if no cloud AI is used. Each Mend server also has monthly limits on the number of Claude requests and Astra reviews. These are operational safeguards, not plan units, and can stop requests before the included value is used up.

Extra usage is metered

Usage beyond the included value is metered at the published retail rates below and added to that month’s bill, but only up to the extra-spending cap you set.

The cap starts at $0

Extra spending is blocked by default. The workspace owner must deliberately raise the cap before any usage beyond the included value is allowed. The cap limits extra AI usage, not the monthly price, and lowering it does not reverse charges already incurred.

Claude cache creation is billed at the ordinary $0.30 input rate. Mend does not request Astra cache creation, so none is billed. Astra output includes billed reasoning tokens, counted once. Astra reviews are optional and selected, not run on every event.

What counts as AI usage?

The input, output and cached tokens that Anthropic or OpenAI report for cloud requests Mend makes for your workspace, valued at the rates above. Actual reported usage counts, including a response whose diagnosis turns out to be unusable. Local checks, Mend AI’s own answers and the free demo use none.

What happens when I reach the cap?

Cloud AI requests stop once the included value plus your extra-spending cap cannot cover them, or once the server’s monthly limit on Claude requests or Astra reviews is reached. Mend reserves an estimated amount before each request, so a request can be blocked shortly before the allowance is fully used. Local checks keep working.

How will I pay?

Online checkout opens soon. Payment will go through Stripe-hosted Checkout, which can offer Apple Pay, Google Pay and cards on eligible devices and browsers. Mend never receives your card number.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Plans renew monthly until canceled. Cancel anytime in the Stripe customer portal; your access runs to the end of the month you paid for. The Stripe customer portal also lets you update your payment method. No refunds for past months, except a full refund if we can’t set you up. Plan changes are reviewed by us during the pilot.

Are the demo and the app free?

Yes. The browser demo runs in your browser with no account, card or AI usage. The Mend companion app for Mac, iPhone and iPad is free and has no in-app purchases; its App Store release is pending.
