A little help.
Keep moving forward.

What Mend is

Mend helps web apps recover from slow or stuck screen transitions. Developers integrate its SDK. When an instrumented transition misses its deadline, Mend AI, through the app’s configured backend, chooses a recovery that the developer has approved; Mend applies it for the user and checks that the next screen actually appeared. Mend AI learns from browser-verified recoveries unless learning is turned off. The current SDK pilot supports instrumented web apps.

The free Mend companion app for Mac, iPhone, and iPad includes an offline demo and sample reports, and can show the reports saved on a Mend server that you can sign in to. The App Store release is pending.

Email support@mend.solutions. Mend is maintained by an individual developer, Akira Patafio. Include:

Remove passwords, gateway logins, API keys, private repository links, and personal information from anything you send. Do not email unredacted diagnostic exports or complete server logs; if more detail is needed, we will ask for it. Your email app sends a message only when you choose to send it.

Companion app questions

Do I need an account or a purchase?

No. The app is free and has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. The Try it tab and the sample reports work without an account, a server, or a network connection. You need a login only to see reports from a Mend server.

How do I try Mend without a server?

Open Try it and choose the Navigation, Slow screen or Layout example. Select Try issue to observe the seeded problem, then Apply recommendation to apply a fixed repair and check the rendered result. Reset restores the original problem. For the navigation examples, choose a Signal latency (Fast, Balanced or Patient) to see how long Mend waits before it flags a slow screen; the choice stays in the app’s memory on this device until the app quits and is never saved or sent. These actions are fixed, not AI-generated, and nothing is sent anywhere.

What are sample reports?

In Reports, choose Explore sample reports to browse example transition reports that are bundled with the app. They load without a network connection and show how a diagnosis, its verification, and the independent-review status appear; the Server tab then shows the status and monthly usage of a newly started sample server. The samples were produced by a Mend server from example transitions and bundled with the app; they are not from your apps or your server.

What are transition hotspots?

In Reports, switch to Hotspots to see where transitions fail in an app’s code, ranked by failures and recency and named by the source label the app’s developer wrote, such as src/cart/CartButton.tsx:42. Each hotspot says whether Mend should Resolve (fix the transition in place), Redirect (send the user to a fallback screen the developer registered) or leave it for Review in the code, why, and the steps. Copy snippet copies its code example to this device’s clipboard. With Explore sample reports, the hotspots are bundled sample data. A server that does not offer hotspots yet shows none.

How do I connect to my own Mend server?

In Server, enter the root HTTPS address of your Mend server (for example, https://mend.example.com) and the gateway username and password set up by the server’s operator, then choose Connect and save. This is the login for the server’s HTTPS gateway, not an Anthropic or OpenAI API key; AI keys stay on the server.

Use the final HTTPS address with a valid certificate, without a page path, query, or embedded login. Redirects are refused, so enter the destination address directly. On an iPhone or iPad, “localhost” means that device, not your Mac or Raspberry Pi.

Why can’t the app connect?

Check that the address is typed exactly, that the server’s certificate is valid and current, and that the gateway username and password are correct—a rejected login is reported separately from other server errors. Also confirm that the server is reachable from your network and is running a current version of Mend. The Try it examples and sample reports keep working while you troubleshoot.

Why is my report list empty?

The connected server has no saved reports yet. Reports appear when an app that integrates Mend sends a failed transition to that server. The companion app does not scan other apps on your device.

How do I remove my data from this device?

In Server, choose Disconnect and clear saved account. This removes the saved server address, gateway username, and password from the Keychain, removes the saved GitHub link, and clears displayed reports. Do this before deleting the app, because Keychain items can remain after the app is deleted. If a Keychain error appears, unlock the device and try again.

How do I delete data stored on a server?

Clearing the app does not delete server reports or revoke a gateway password. For the mend.solutions pilot service, email support@mend.solutions and tell us which workspace you use, without including passwords. For any other server, contact its operator.

Does Mend change other apps or send my data to AI?

The companion app reads reports. It does not modify other apps, run generated code, or call AI providers. A Mend server runs Mend AI and can use Anthropic Claude for layout checks and for transitions Mend AI is unsure about, and OpenAI if the server’s operator also turns it on, sending reduced measurements rather than page content; those providers process them under their own terms, and Mend never sends your data to train their models. The operator and an app’s developer can each turn cloud AI and learning off, and an app can pass the same choice on to the people using it. The Privacy Policy and the AI and data disclosure explain the details.

The website demo

Open the free browser demo, choose a hidden screen, a slow screen, a screen that’s gone or an overflowing card, and select Try the issue. Each screen problem also shows its transition hotspot—resolve in place or redirect to a registered fallback—with a snippet to copy. Then select Apply suggestion to see a registered change and its measured result. Undo restores the problem. For the slow screen, change the Signal latency—how long Mend waits before it signals a slow or stuck screen—to see Fast and Balanced flag it and Patient let it open. The demo runs in your browser with fixed local actions, keeps your latency choice in page memory only, and sends nothing to a server. If it does not appear, enable JavaScript and reload the page.

Developer workspace

The workspace at /workspace is for the service owner and requires a login issued by the operator. There is no public sign-up. The app is free and has no in-app purchases.
